Project DescriptionWhether it is a character for a children's book, an animated series, a video game or even a fashion design, character design plays a crucial role in many fields of art. People make many decisions based off of their initial response of what they see. You want to learn to use this by designing your character's appearance to mold how you want the audience to see the character. Will they see your design as the stunning beauty, a villainous monster, as historically accurate, or as comic relief?
In this project you are to redesign a fictional character with a specific color set of your choosing from monochromatic, analogous, complement or with a spit complement. The character will be designed and posed into two poses to establish their personality. Project CriteriaFill Page- 5: The two poses fill up the page as best as they can.
Color Set- 10: The character uses a specific color set Paint Handling- 10: The watercolor paint is handled well, utilizing various shades and tints to create a well modeled character. Proper Proportions- 5: The character is made with proportions appropriate for a human, with the head, body, hands and feet drawn accurately. Unique Poses- 5: The character is drawn in two interesting poses displaying the character's outfit and personality. Clean Finish- 5: The paper is kept clean and the drawing and painting techniques are used accurately. |
